WiFi Hotspot Locators

Public Hotspots are less secure than your home or office.

If you have to enter sensitive information like a credit card or account number at a web site, be sure there is a closed lock symbol in the status bar at the bottom of your browser or that the page's URL starts with "https" in the address bar.

Other ways to tighten your security include:

Disable your WiFi card's peer-to-peer mode
Turn on data encryption
Always run a firewall
Always run an antivirus
Make sure your OS and other apps are up-to-date on security patches.
